John was born in Indianapolis, In, graduated high school and immediately joined the United States Marine Corps, serving four and a half years at various duty stations around the world. Upon completion of military service he decided on a career in business and attended Indiana University working towards a B. A. As the second semester began John needed an "easy" two hour course to fulfill requirements for his veterans benefits and enrolled in an acting class. By the end of the semester he was bitten by the bug, changed his major and was on his way to "becoming a star".

John had the opportunity to attend Strasberg Theatre Institute in L. A. for a year and then returned to Southern Illinois University to purse an MFA in design and technical theatre. His intention being to return to L.A., find work in the movie industry while waiting to be "discovered".

But alas dear reader, as happens with many of us, life began to take him on a different path. During the next thirty-two years John carried on as a successful business man by day and actor/director in community theatre by night. John has performed many major roles in more than fifty main stage productions, four films and three commercials. John retired in 2007 with the intent to put as many miles as he could on his motorcycle and to do as much theatre and film as possible.

Dedicated to his craft, John continues the pursuit for his next role, one that both challenges and inspires.
